Welcome to Charles E. Teach Elementary School!
Our school serves highly motivated students in grades 4-6. We are committed to providing students with an accelerated learning environment that nurtures creativity and diverse learning styles. Underpinning a long history of achievement are expectations for high personal standards, accountability, and a climate that fosters independent learning. Our school provides students with the opportunity to successfully master rigorous state standards, especially in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Our success is evidenced by our 2012 API of 975. The staff, parents and students also share a common vision that much of our academic success is based on strong parental involvement in the learning process.
As with any successful school, we enjoy, encourage and appreciate parent, family and community support and involvement. Teach School students come from all neighborhoods in the San Luis Coastal Unified School District through the Open Enrollment Process. Every year there is an open enrollment period in early Spring and parents may submit Open Enrollment Transfer Requests at their neighborhood schools for attendance at Teach.
The Open Enrollment window this year is February 25 through March 22, 2013. Students will only be accepted into 4th grade for the 2013-14 school year. Should the number of requests exceed space, a lottery will be held to determine the 2013-14 class.
