THANK YOU to Stephen, Emile, and Emme for bringing snacks!

As you know, STAR testing is next Tuesday through Thursday and the following Tuesday through Thursday. It is VERY important that you get a good night’s sleep before each day of testing! Also, make sure you eat a good, healthy breakfast and get to school on time each morning.
I’m also collecting snack items for testing. Healthy, bite-sized snacks are best (like pretzels, goldfish, graham crackers, etc.). If your parents would like to donate some snacks for us, please tell them to send them in. They can e-mail me to see what has already been donated or what we need if they’d like.
The gradebook is closed for Trimester 2. All grades have been finalized. Please remember that next week’s conferences are student-led and, therefore, require your attendance. You will play a very important role! If you do not have a conference next week, your report cards will go home on Friday.
I wanted to remind you of a few things as you get ready for Yosemite (these are on the Yosemite reminder flyer that went home recently — make sure you show that to your parents!):
Feel free to e-mail me at my Gmail address (see Ms. Kelly page) if you need anything or have any questions. Happy packing!
Mr. Hastings will be leading us on two hikes up Bishop’s Peak to make sure we are ready for Yosemite! Permission slips will be coming home soon. The hikes will be on February 10th and 24th from 11:30-2:15. You will need to wear your hiking boots and bring your daypacks, crumbcatchers, sack lunches, and water bottles. Please let your parents know that they are welcome to hike with us if they’d like!
UPDATE: There have been several postings to the Gear Trade page! Make sure to check them out!
Need Yosemite gear? Have your parents check out the Boosters Gear Trade page. You can post items to trade or search for items you need. Let me know if you or your parents have questions or need help!
We have several field trips coming up! If your parent would like to be a chaperone on any of these trips, please tell them to let me know ASAP via e-mail or note. Check the “Ms. Kelly” page for my contact information. Chaperones are selected on a first come, first served basis!
This is an important announcement for your parents, so please make sure to pass this information on to them! We will be having a parent meeting on Thursday, January 12th at 5:00 pm in the library to go over all of the details of our Yosemite trip. Your parents will also be able to pick up all the paperwork necessary for the trip and ask any questions they have. I know you all are very excited about the trip as well, but this meeting is only for parents. We’ll have our own meeting the next day in class!
Are your parents interested in being chaperones for our Yosemite trip? Tell them to come to our Yosemite Chaperone Informational Meeting! We will be meeting on Wednesday, December 14th at 5:00 pm in the BP/TE library. Make sure your parents know that this is just an informational meeting; attendance does not commit them to anything, nor does it ensure them a spot as a chaperone. Yea Yosemite!
We are honored to be hosting the holiday party for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The event is Saturday, December 3rd from 12-2 pm (set-up is at 11 am). Please RSVP and let us know you’ll be joining us for this awesome event!
