As you know, STAR testing is next Tuesday through Thursday and the following Tuesday through Thursday. It is VERY important that you get a good night’s sleep before each day of testing! Also, make sure you eat a good, healthy breakfast and get to school on time each morning.

I’m also collecting snack items for testing. Healthy, bite-sized snacks are best (like pretzels, goldfish, graham crackers, etc.). If your parents would like to donate some snacks for us, please tell them to send them in. They can e-mail me to see what has already been donated or what we need if they’d like.

I wanted to remind you of a few things as you get ready for Yosemite (these are on the Yosemite reminder flyer that went home recently — make sure you show that to your parents!):

• Stick as closely as you can to the packing list and green reminder sheet. That will help you be as prepared as possible. Don’t forget to check out the Boosters Gear Trade page if you still need supplies or clothing!
• Make sure you get to school between 7:30 and 7:45 on Monday morning. Eat a good, healthy breakfast before you arrive at school.
• Bring the signed permission slip and student contract (you’ll get this on Tuesday) to school by FRIDAY at the latest.

This is an important announcement for your parents, so please make sure to pass this information on to them! We will be having a parent meeting on Thursday, January 12th at 5:00 pm in the library to go over all of the details of our Yosemite trip. Your parents will also be able to pick up all the paperwork necessary for the trip and ask any questions they have. I know you all are very excited about the trip as well, but this meeting is only for parents. We’ll have our own meeting the next day in class!

We are honored to be hosting the holiday party for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The event is Saturday, December 3rd from 12-2 pm (set-up is at 11 am). Please RSVP and let us know you’ll be joining us for this awesome event!
